This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of quantum materials science and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in ultrafast imaging techniques.
Position Overview:
As a postdoc in our group, you will focus on designing and implementing advanced STM techniques to study dynamic phenomena in quantum materials with femtosecond temporal resolution and atomic spatial resolution. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experimentalists and theorists to probe novel states of matter, including charge density waves, superconductors, and topological systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize ultrafast STM instrumentation, integrating femtosecond laser systems.
- Conduct experiments to investigate ultrafast dynamics in quantum materials.
- Analyze and interpret data to uncover new physical phenomena in correlated electron systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external research partners to advance understanding of quantum matter.
- Present findings at conferences and publish high-impact research articles.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (completed or near completion).
- Strong background in quantum materials, condensed matter physics, or ultrafast optics.
- Hands-on experience with STM, ultrafast lasers, or similar experimental techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of an innovative research environment pushing the boundaries of ultrafast imaging in quantum systems.
- Access to state-of-the-art facilities and tools in ultrafast optics and nanoscale imaging.
- Collaborate with world-leading scientists in an interdisciplinary and supportive team.
- Opportunities for professional development, including mentorship and conference participation.
